Hainault, Winter 1947

This photo was taken in the front garden of 370 New North Road, Hainault in the winter of 1947. My mother is clearing snow and in the background can be seen the new prefabs of the Hainault Estate at Staggart Way. An estate notice board is also in view to the left of the Arcon MkV prefab. Whilst we never lived in a prefab I remember going in one and was amazed how modern they were. This part of the estate was demolished in 1974.
