  • The bungalow’ when delivered from Sweden in 1946 to the Worksop Rural Council, had to be stored in the White Swan car park for 6 months because the plans had to be translated to English so the builders could commence there task of putting it together.
The first tenants moved in Nov of that year and I was the third occupier 1980 occupying the dwelling with a grown up family of six children, who have all left the coup leaving the wife and I with our memories of the hard work put into the houses upkeep but well worth it.
I have seen quite a lot of these dwellings up and down the country which ranged between 4 bed-roomed houses and bungalows as far as Scotland in the north to Winchcombe near Cheltenham in the south of the country.
I note that most of these buildings were allocated to Farm workers mostly .
